17 Treatment Integrity: Seeing if the Intervention is in Place as Planned
In addition to collecting information on student performance (e.g., academic engagement, work completion), it is important to collect and review treatment integrity data to determine the degree to which all components are put in place as planned (Buckman et al., 2021). For example, treatment integrity data may suggest students have not received sufficient opportunities to rehearse the expected behaviors. Collecting and reviewing these data provides teachers the opportunity to revise their plans accordingly. We encourage you to visit the module Staying on Track: Using Data to Set Goals and Monitor Implementation Efforts for additional information on the “hows and whys” of treatment integrity and social validity.
