Ci3T Implementation
Implementing Ci3T
You have designed your Ci3T Model of Prevention. Now, how do you bring it to life?
Welcome to your Ci3T implementation journey. Learn what Ci3T implementation looks like each year and how to access professional learning opportunities designed for all key players.
What Implementation Means in Ci3T Schools
Whether your school is in its first year of Ci3T or its 14th, implementation follows a consistent annual rhythm.
Each year includes:
- Launching the year with clarity and shared expectations
- Ongoing collaboration among leadership teams, faculty, families, and administrators
- Scheduled data collection and data review
- Data-informed professional learning aligned to implementation goals
- Data-informed instruction for students
- Continuous refinement of practices to support all students
This work is guided by a comprehensive roadmap, the Ci3T Implementation Series & Delivery (Ci3T-ISD).
Ci3T Implementation Series & Delivery (Ci3T-ISD)
The Ci3T-ISD is a year-long implementation map that coordinates communication, professional learning, and data routines across stakeholder groups.
The Ci3T-ISD is organized around three interconnected components:
- Foundational Ci3T Implementation & Professional Learning Activities: Structured collaboration, communication, and ongoing professional learning to ensure all stakeholders understand their roles and build skills needed for implementation
- Data Collection & Data-Informed Decision-Making: Collecting and using multiple data sources, including systematic screening, treatment integrity, and social validity
- Professional Learning for District Decision Makers & School Leaders: Opportunities for district leaders and principals to develop background knowledge, align Ci3T with district priorities, and sustain long-term implementation
What to Expect When Implementing Ci3T
Implementation looks different depending on your role.
Ci3T Leadership Team Members
Leadership Teams guide implementation at the school level by:
- Reviewing screening, integrity, and social validity data at predictable times each year
- Creating data-informed action plans
- Supporting faculty and staff based on individual and collective needs
Teams participate in the annual Ci3T Implementation Professional Learning Series, a summer preparation symposium followed by a structured five-part series during the academic year aligned with key implementation milestones.
Faculty and Staff
Educators implement Ci3T practices in daily instruction by implementing Tier 1 practices, strategies, and programs, such as:
- providing high-quality Tier 1 instruction strategies
- using low-intensity strategies to maximize engagement
- teaching school-wide expectations
- participating in a universal reinforcement system
- responding respectfully to challenging behavior
- teaching social and emotional well-being programs
- developing integrated lesson plans
Educators also support implementation of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
To support these roles and responsibilities, professional learning is available through district offerings and Ci3T EMPOWER Sessions.
Families and Community Members
Families are essential partners in Ci3T implementation. They may:
- Participate in school events
- Provide input on Ci3T implementation goals, procedures, and outcomes
- Engage in learning opportunities to apply aspects of Ci3T—such as expectations and the use of low-intensity strategies—at home, if desired
Family and community members are welcome at all Ci3T EMPOWER Sessions to learn more!

Data-Informed Decision-Making
Ci3T schools use systematic screening, treatment integrity, and social validity data to guide implementation and student support decisions.
